Good Friends & Turning 23...

THURSDAY: Well, the festivities started one week prior to my birthday. One of my best friends, Kristin, came into town. She flew in due to the fact that her parents moved from Memphis (a small town in the panhandle) to Plano. It was kind of bittersweet knowing that they were closing on their house and they won't have any further ties to this area. But, she flew in on Thursday and I met her and her parents in McLean at the steakhouse. It was great to see her and catch up in person. She got me the cutest Running Diva shirt (that I've already worn) and the cutest mug that says "diva" that I received a few days later in the mail.

SATURDAY: My mom, grandmother and I went to Amarillo for a girls' day. Since I would be gone the following weekend, we went and had lunch and shopped. It was a great day with two of my favorite people.

MONDAY: We cooked out at my cousin, Tristan's house, and I got to spend some quality time w/ Mr. Brendan David.

THURSDAY: The day of my birthday I received flowers from my parents and a cute decorative candle holder from one of the girls I work with. That night my mom came up and brought dinner (now that I work at Abraham Trading, they provide our lunch every day, but that also means eating out every single day) and my favorite-a chocolate chip cheesecake.

FRIDAY: Marty & I took off at noon and left for OKC. We met up with my best guy friend from college, Jacob, and his wife, Amy, and my best friend, Becky, at this place on Lake Hefner called Red Rock. It was beautiful and the food was great.

Here's the 'Chocolate Something' that we split between the five of us. It was HUGE and delicious!

One of my other dear friends, Whitney, wasn't able to make it to dinner with us so we met her at Target and got to see her briefly.

Saturday morning we got around and headed East towards Springdale, AR. We got checked into our hotel and headed to Bentonville to see Todd & Erin. Their house was adorable! Erin, I should have had the boys take our picture!

Rachel's wedding was at 6:30 p.m. at the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks. It was beautiful, but it was HOT.
Me and my crazy friend, Allison.

Amy has the pictures of us with the BEAUTIFUL bride on her camera so I'll have to get them from her later.

Afterwards, Todd & Erin met us at Marketplace and we got to visit a little longer.

Jacob & Amy were staying in the same hotel as us so we all got to hang out afterwards. I think Todd & Erin left sometime after 12 a.m., I crashed around 1:15 a.m. and Jacob & Amy went back to their room around 2:15 a.m.

All in all it was a GREAT birthday week full of visiting friends that we don't get to see as often as we would like. Thank you all for making my birthday and my week wonderful! I love you dearly!

East Texas

East Texas

Well, the last weekend in May we headed South. We left on Thursday and dropped my great aunt off in Paris and then went on to Gilmer to see Marty's parents and my nieces. The next day his parents, my mom and he and I went to Canton. We had so much fun. We got some great stuff and I even haggled a coat rack down $15.

Miss Cadi Lynn

Friday night Marty went home w/ his parents and Mom and I headed to Sulphur Springs to see a couple of her best friends from high school. We went to Shannon's son, Drew's, ballgame.

Then Saturday we just messed around and then headed to back to Paris for my cousin, Kelli's graduation from North Lamar. Marty spent Saturday w/ his dad floating down the river in Jefferson. I was so jealous I missed that trip, but he got some really neat pictures. Unfortunately, they're still on his camera so I'm posting w/o them.

The above picture is of Marty and his parents before we left Sunday morning. It was a fast and furious trip as usual. I wish we could just come down and spend a month sometime, but it always seems like it so hard to get away for any substantial amount of time.

New Job

Monday, June 2nd, I started my new job. The Wednesday before we left for East Texas was my last day at my old job. It was really hard because I had gotten so close to the people I worked with and they had been so good to me, but this is a positive change. I am working for Abraham Trading & Commodities and I love it! It's so nice not driving 80 miles round trip a day! I've been so impatient about the whole job situation and my mom kept saying, "be patient, have faith". I was patient and there were times when I was anything but positive. But God is good and of the five jobs I'd been approached with in the last few months this was the last one to come along, but by far the best opportunity. God is good and I need to learn to be more patient to His timing and His will and forget about my own agenda...

Have a blessed week y'all!

Rachel's Wedding...

Memorial Day weekend was one of my good friend's from high school's wedding. It was at this cute little quaint place outside of Borger. I didn't get just a ton of pictures, but here are a few.

Marty went on "mancation" with some friends from college this same weekend and unfortunately didn't get any pictures, but they had a good time. He & Matt rode to Lake Fork together and met up w/ Craig and some other guys. They stayed up all night Friday fishing with not much luck.

Cats & Dogs...

Well, the morning I left for Pioneer Days Cowboy was acting strange. No sooner than I had pulled into Becky's driveway, Marty called and said she had two kittens. They just opened their eyes yesterday. They're so cute. The boy is while w/ tabby colored spots and a bobbed tail and then little girl is black w/ white on her stomach and feet. I want to keep them both!
