4th of July

Well, this past 4th of July was as crazy as I can remember. I had my five year class reunion Thurs. night. 13 of the 42 originally in our class showed up, but we had a good time.

Here's the Class of 2003 or at least some of us...

Jyl & Me

My in-laws got in that morning at 12:30 a.m. Marty had already went to bed and I got in around 10:30 p.m. so I started cooking and waited on them.

The next morning we went to a pre-parade party at The Citadel. We watched some of the parade and then headed South to meet up with my parents at the park for lunch. I got to see several people...

including a slightly pregnant Megan...

Here's Mom, Me & Dad. Very lady-like as always...

Marty & his parents.

Michaela & Me.

What could be better than homemade ice cream on the 4th? It's funny how our activities have evolved since we've gotten older. When I was younger, I would run the Fun Run at 7 a.m., play in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament and lifeguard at the pool and grab a snack if I had time. Now our activities revolve around the pork sandwiches, turkey legs and homemade ice cream...I can't complain though.

That afternoon Marty's parents were exhausted so they went back to our house and slept. We made a quick run to Pampa and then back to Wheeler for a cookout at Jason & Desiree's house.

Me w/ two of my favorite pregnant girls...

Saturday Jerrye & Kenneth left around 8 a.m. and we slept almost the entire day. We didn't roll in until about 2:30 that morning so it felt good to be lazy.

We got around and went to Lyndi's for another get together.

Here's me & Marty before we left.

Me & Jyl at her parents' house.

It was a great long weekend. It was so good to see everyone and hangout. We leave for Colorado on Sunday and will be back the following Saturday. I can't wait. We typically go every other year, but it's been 3 years (since the summer Marty & I met) since we've been. I'm ecstatic. So have a great week and I'm sure I'll have lots to blog about when we get back!

A 'Go Green' Themed Wedding

The last weekend in June my friend, Abby, got married. Abby and I became good friends in college. She was my workout partner and she kept me motivated throughout our college careers. Too bad we don't live in the same town now because I haven't worked out consistently since. But, she is one amazing girl and I was so grateful to be part of her special day!
Here are she and her mother after the rehearsal dinner.

And the two of us on her last night as a single girl.

Here is the beautiful bride waiting for the ceremony to start.

Her reception theme was 'go green'. Everything looked amazing. They did these branch chandeliers and lots of other 'eco friendly' decorations.

Movies, Movies, Movies!

It seems like lately we've been to a movie every week. I took my high school coach's kids to see Kung Fu Panda last week. It was SO cute. We enjoyed a little pizza prior to the movie. I love these two, they're so sweet!

Brady, me & Michaela

The movie changes on Thursday so our friends Jason & Des came up and went to dinner and to see What Happens in Vegas.

Last night, my friend from OSU, Randi, came down and we went to see Sex and the City. I thought it was really good minus a couple of the sex scenes. I didn't watch the series much, but I LOVED the movie and seeing my dear friend!

And to top it off, Marty and I are going to see Hancock tonight.

Animal Happenings...

Here is a picture of Cowboy and her two kittens.

We gave the white one away over the weekend.

The other morning before work I saw something black out the window.

Upon closer inspection I noticed to jakes walking through our yard. We live right off of Main St.
When I came home around 4 p.m. they were in our neighbors yard just a few houses down.

I had this great idea to have Honey trimmed since she's been shedding so badly and her coat looked terrible. Well, one of our friends has a Golden and he had her trimmed by a lady that comes to town about once a week. So I made an appointment with her the following week. When she called to inform me that I could pick up my dog, she said that they accidentally started with a shorter blade than intended. I didn't think much of it, I just thought, "oh, it'll be a little more than a trim."
This face says it all...

She SHAVED my poor dog! She looks like a giant poodle! I'll think twice the next time I get a 'great idea'.
