Frame of Mind...

What does it take to change your frame of mind?

Yesterday I came home from the office. It hadn't been a bad day, just kind of blah. Then the hubs came home and we got in a slight disagreement. That only sent my mood further south.

When I was in high school, it didn't matter what it was...if I needed to think, relieve stress or just change my frame of mind, I went for a run. The good, long kind. Whatever was bothering me at the beginning of my run seemed petty and menial by the end of it.

So I changed out of my work clothes, put Tyke's little harness on and we went for a quick walk and then I dropped him off at the house and went and worked out.

I think the combination of being outside and jamming to my iPod that my dear friend, Tamara, uploaded with some great praise and worship music was just the ticket.

When I walked back in the house I felt completely different than I had when I arrived home earlier that evening.

It got me to wondering...what helps change your frame of mind or put you in a better mood?

Happy Friday! We are headed to my grandparents to have a BIG garage sale tomorrow. I'm praying we get rid of all our junk and make lots of moola! One of my friends had a garage sale in Amarillo earlier this year and made $1,600! I've NEVER had a garage sale be quite that lucrative, but here's hoping...

I like to sit and be by myself for awhile. Whether I'm listening to music or reading a book....I just need a little downtime to cool off. I wish I enjoyed running more, cause I hear it's a great outlet!

I miss running that was always my release.... I tried going for walks but that just doesn't do it for me. I really need to find that thing for me again... I started realizing this two years ago when I was no longer able to run but I have still yet to find that thing which makes me release everything. I'll keep looking. Try to figure out something new.

running ALWAYS helps me get perspective and puts me in a better mood. Must be all those endorphins.
I also like to do a hard yoga sess to put me in a better mood. And if all else fails, there is always ben and jerrys!

Music has always been a powerful outlet for me. I listen to it when I'm sad, when I want to relax, when I want to jam out, for everything.

Just stumbled across your blog at "The Seattle Smiths"... I love the design! And I love the blog :) I think I'll have to follow now!

As far as what changes my frame of mind... working out, praise & worship music, or just sitting outside and looking at how incredible God's creation- there's just something about breathing in fresh air and listening to the breeze rustle the leaves...anyway-they all do it for me! :)

Love this post!
For me a hot hot shower often helps, so does getting out of the house and taking a drive.

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. I love love to discover new reads!
